How do I report a crime and file a police report?
To report a crime and file a police report, call 503-823-3333. An officer will be dispatched to your location 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Dispatch services are provided by the City of Portland’s 911 Center, the Bureau of Emergency Communications. ALWAYS CALL 911 FOR A CRIME IN PROGRESS OF ANY KIND. What number do I call for police information?
General information, calls for a specific person or other business office questions can be directed to the Records Unit of the Troutdale Police Department at 503-665-6129. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding holidays. The Police Department’s location and address is: 141 SE Dora Avenue, Troutdale Oregon 97060.

How do I get a copy of a police report or an accident report?
Report requests should be made by mail or in person to the Records Unit at 141 SE Dora Avenue. Some reports or information may not be released if the case is pending trial, under investigation, involving juveniles, or otherwise exempt under State or Federal law. Are there fees for police reports?
The Department charges fees according to the City of Troutdale fee schedule as follows:

  • Copies of Reports - $9.00 first 10 pages, $.25 per page each additional. No charge to the victim of the crime.
  • Copies of Citations - $3.00 per citation
  • Color photographs - $5.00 for the first print, $1.00 each additional page available in hard copy or on a CD.

Can I get a copy of a police report that does not involve me?
If you have specifics about a case, you may be able to obtain a copy of report as long as it is closed and not exempt from disclosure under Federal or State law. For more information, contact the Troutdale Police Records Unit at 503-665-6129.

Where do I pay traffic or parking ticket, ask about my Court dates or other Municipal Court information?
Traffic tickets are paid at the City of Troutdale, 104 S.E. Kibling Avenue from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Ask for the Municipal Court Clerk when you visit City Hall, or call the Court Clerk at 503-665-5175 for court date and court information.

Where can I get a copy of my criminal record?
The police department is not authorized to release criminal history records to the public. To obtain a copy of your own Oregon criminal history report or a clearance letter indicating you have no Oregon criminal history, submit the “Copy of Own Record Request” form and follow the steps outlined at the State of Oregon website- click HERE or call the OSP Identification Services Section at 503-378-3070.

Can I get a copy of another person's criminal record?
A person may request an "Open Record Check" to check the background of another person by following the steps outlined at the State of Oregon website- click HERE or call the OSP Identification Services Section 503-378-3070 for further information.

How do I get a restraining order?
Contact the Multnomah County Family Law District Attorney at 503-988-3943, or at their website for instructions and procedures for obtaining a restraining order.

How do I get a concealed weapons permit?
You must go to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office at 12240 NE Glisan St, Portland, Oregon to apply for a concealed weapons permit. For more information, contact the Multnomah County's Sheriff's Concealed Handgun Licensing unit at 503-251-2417 or click HERE.

Am I required to have an alarm permit?
Multnomah County requires all alarm users to obtain a permit(s) to operate an alarm system eliciting a police response (in some cases, two permits are needed for the same system). The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office administers the Alarm Ordinance program for the following cities in Multnomah County, Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Wood Village, Maywood Park and unincorporated Multnomah County. What are the age requirements and laws regarding the use of motorized scooters?
Anyone 16 years of age and older may operate a motorized scooter, but there are specific state laws regarding the use of signals, proper operations, and equipment. Click HERE for more information.

Am I required to wear a bike helmet?
Anyone under the age of 16, riding a bicycle in a place open to the public, is required to wear protective headgear in compliance with ORS 815.052.

Who do I call to see if I have any outstanding warrants?
If you believe you may have a city warrant, you should call Troutdale Municipal Court at 503-665-5175. If you believe you may have a county warrant, you should call the Multnomah County Sheriff's Department Warrant Division at 503-988-3235.

Can I have the police department check someone else to see if they have a warrant?
No. An individual who suspects they have an outstanding warrant may come to the police department in person and show ID and we will advise them if they have a warrant. However, a citizen who feels a person may be wanted by law enforcement should notify the Police department and we will follow up.

Who provides animal control services for the City of Troutdale?
Animal Services of Multnomah County provides licensing, adoption and lost/found pet services for the City of Troutdale. Barking dog, shelter, and animal nuisance information is also available by calling 503-988-7387, by visiting the shelter at 1700 W Columbia River Hwy, Troutdale, OR 97060, or by clicking HERE.

Where can I get fingerprinted?

How do I arrange for the mobile traffic radar sign to be placed in my neighborhood?
You may contact the Troutdale Police Department 503-665-6129 or email . Placement is subject to the department being able to locate the sign in a safe location. Length of duration at a particular location is dependant on the number of requests for the sign.

Who do I call to see if someone is in jail?
The Troutdale Police Department does not have a jail. All arrested adults are taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center at 1120 SW Third Ave, Portland, OR 97204. You can call the County jail with your request at 503-988-3689 or check the County jail inmate booking log by clicking HERE.

How can I get crime prevention or other related police presentation for my group, school or organization?
Call the Troutdale Police Department Records Unit at 503-665-6129 to be referred to a Sergeant to schedule a presentation.

Does the police department enforce a nighttime curfew... what are the hours?
Troutdale enforces a curfew of 11pm to 6am daily for everyone under 18 years old.

Does the police department enforce a daytime curfew... what are the hours?
The curfew affects students between the ages of 7 and 18 years of age who have not completed the 12th grade. The daytime curfew prohibits a student from being on any street, highway, park, alley, or other place open to the public during school hours. The exceptions to this ordinance are as follows:

  • The student is accompanied by a parent, or accompanied by any other person 18 years of age or over that is authorized by the parent or by law, to have care or custody of the minor.
  • The student is engaged in lawful pursuit or activity that requires the minor's presence in such public place during school hours.
  • The student is travelling directly between school and home, or to another location designated by a parent, after being authorized and approved to be away from school.
  • The student is emancipated or exempt from school (i.e. home schooled students).
    NOTE: Suspended or expelled students are NOT exempt from the curfew.
