  • Tri-Met Transit Choices for Livability

  • League of Oregon Cities Transportation Committee-Salem, Oregon

Accomplished Goals:
It is important for the residents of Troutdale to have a sense of belonging to a community. In the twelve years I have served as your elected representative, I have worked diligently, along with the city council to make Troutdale a more livable community

  • Relocation of the treatment plant away from downtown and construction of a new sewer treatment plant. This plant should provide service to the build-out of our city

  • Development of the north side of downtown through a public-private partnership

  • Expansion of city parks. Most notable was the addition of 62.6 acres adjacent and immediately to the east of Mt. Hood Community College as a permanent dedicated green space. Full service parks have been improved and neighborhood parks are currently undergoing upgrades

  • Support park programs for all ages. Currently, Troutdale is the only city in East County that has sport and activity programs available to all of our residents.

Visionary Goals Of 2009

  • Development of the 20 acres adjacent to Sandy River and east of Columbia Gorge Outlet Mall. This would include public improvements like an esplanade next to the river, a park, with an open green space for public access. Boutiques, restaurants, a hotel along with a variety of other retailers are planned for this area

  • Improvements to the South side of downtown most notably the “Discovery Block”. This property is located on the north by East Columbia River Historical Highway, on the South by 2nd Street, on the East by Harlow and on the West by Dora

  • Work with Oregon Department of Transportation to make improvements for alleviating congestion along South Frontage Road. Solicit support from ODOT and the Port of Portland for a new interchange in Troutdale

  • Maintain a fully staffed and well-trained/equipped police department

  • Continue to support development and construction of a new Multnomah County Library within the 2009 calendar year

  • Promote the continued location of new businesses in the Port of Portland property formally known as the Alcoa Aluminum site.

As your mayor, I am committed to be accessible and work diligently for our city and it’s citizens If you have any input or suggestions that would help support that goal please feel free to contact me. You can call reach me by calling (503) 665-5175 or email me . I look forward to hearing from you.

Please contact me with your ideas or concerns; I am always available and want to hear from citizens, or anyone interested in Troutdale. My goal as a city councilor is to help keep Troutdale the greatest place to live and work.

Troutdale is a beautiful city with a desirable location and unique history. Probably our biggest challenge today is maintaining and enlarging out tax base, to keep Troutdale fiscally strong. We must attract new businesses and homes, and do it in a way that complements what is good about our city. In addition to economic development, I urge citizens to join me in keeping Troutdale safe through support of our police, and keeping Troutdale green through support of parks and greenspaces.

We can accomplish a lot by working together! If you want to contact me, my e-mail address is next to my name, above, or call city hall at (503) 665-5175, or my home (503) 666-8462.
